Apple has announced a significant expansion of its educational initiatives, bringing its Everyone Can Code and Develop in Swift programs to more students and educators around the globe.
The programs offer comprehensive curricula that teach coding and app development using Swift, Apple’s open-source programming language. New resources include enhanced guides for students, teacher training, and materials optimized for remote learning environments.
“Education is the great equalizer, and we believe coding is an essential skill that should be accessible to all,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “By expanding our coding programs, we’re giving people the tools to create and innovate, opening doors to future careers in technology and beyond.”
The expansion includes partnerships with educational institutions in underserved communities, translation of materials into additional languages, and support for accessibility features to assist learners with disabilities. Apple is also hosting virtual coding camps and challenges to engage students during periods of remote learning.
